What to put on your List

This may all seem rather obvious but you would be surprised at just how many people forget to book the supply of services or discover well into the project that they have an 8 month wait for electricity or have to pay to pipe in water. By listing out all the tasks, equipment, services and deadlines you can prioritise and plan events and not miss anything out. The most important aspect is the order of events. 6) Insulation – All materials to prevent heat loss through the walls, roof or floor.

7) Fitting out – The installation of services, communication systems, welfare systems, administration systems, access systems (lifts), doors, lighting, furniture, heating, office and process equipment, alarms and security.

Costs – As a very rough guide whatever the ground works cost, the building is likely to be the same again and the fitting out of the finished shell will be the same as the first two costs combined.
